This privacy policy explains what data the Meymo web companion collects, why, and how you stay in control. Meymo Desktop is local-first: this companion only processes the data required for your account, billing, and sign-in.
01Privacy shield
The privacy shield replaces detected information with markers and can restore identities in a reply. The 20 most recent correspondence tables are encrypted on this computer, separately from history, and can be deleted. Nothing is sent automatically. Always review the text: detection may be incomplete and does not guarantee compliance with professional secrecy.
02Optional product measurement
With your permission, PostHog EU measures website visits, activation, successful feature use and subscription events, including after payment. Your choice applies to linked devices. No text, audio, name or email is sent. Refusing does not affect Meymo. Withdraw at any time on the site or in application Privacy settings. The random browser identifier lasts at most 30 days. After normal sign-in, a random analytics identifier links consented account milestones across devices. We record at most one successful-use event per account, day and feature family, plus verified payments, renewals, cancellation and refunds. No hardware fingerprint, full URL, raw log, text or audio is sent. PostHog’s free plan provides one year of queryable event history; this is not a guarantee of physical deletion after one year. Withdrawal stops future transmissions and clears queued events. Account data erasure includes a request to delete related PostHog data; completion must be verified. A download request does not prove a completed transfer. Legacy V3 launch measurement remains separately identified. The Meymo version is also measured to understand differences between releases.
03Data we collect
We collect account information (email address, sign-in provider identifier), billing data handled by Stripe (subscription status and payment history; card numbers never pass through our servers), and linked-computer data (name, platform, version, pairing and last-sync dates).
04How we use data
This data is used to authenticate your access, manage your subscription, connect Meymo Desktop, sync your entitlements, and let you review or revoke your linked computers. We never use your data for advertising.
05Legal basis and retention
We process your data to perform our contract, secure the service, and meet legal and accounting obligations. Account and linked-computer data is kept while the account is active, then deleted or anonymized after closure except where a legal limitation or accounting retention period requires otherwise.
06One trial per recognized installation
To prevent repeated trials, Meymo uses a random installation identifier and a random secret kept in the operating system's protected credential store. The server keeps pseudonymous markers, a pseudonymous reference to the first beneficiary and trial dates. This register contains no email, hardware fingerprint, text or audio and is not used for analytics or advertising. These markers remain after account deletion for as long as Meymo offers this trial and they remain necessary to prevent repeated trials. We review that necessity annually and delete markers when it ends. The usual account data is deleted separately. Contact us to request a review or exercise your data protection rights.
07Sharing and processors
We rely on Stripe, Vercel, Neon, Resend, Zoho Desk, and the sign-in provider you choose, currently Google or Microsoft. If you enable Notion or HubSpot, only the finalized result you explicitly save and send to your chosen destination is transmitted there under that provider's terms. Transfers outside the EEA use the applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses where required. We do not sell your data and share it only as needed.
08Your rights
NEIRDA DEV is the data controller. Under the GDPR, you may access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your data. You can delete your account from your settings or contact support@meymo.app. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
09Security
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted transport, access controls, and signed desktop entitlements. As no system is infallible, we recommend using a strong password with your sign-in provider.
10Cookies
The web companion uses cookies needed for authentication, security and your language. With your optional V4 consent, a browser identifier and a first-party measurement cookie also support the PostHog EU measurement described above. No advertising cookies are used. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
11Optional connector transfers
Meymo Desktop processes audio and text locally by default. A Notion or HubSpot transfer happens only after you explicitly save a finalized result and choose the exact database, contact, or company. Meymo never sends drafts, raw dictation, silence, failed output, or a CRM target inferred from your text. Once sent, the selected provider controls its own copy and retention under its terms; your encrypted Meymo history remains local.
12Answer to “How did you hear about Meymo?”
Your account page may ask you once how you heard about Meymo. Answering is optional. If you answer, we keep the channel you chose, any free text and the page language, linked to your account. These answers are used only to measure, in aggregate, which channels make Meymo known: they are not used for advertising or profiling, are not shared, and never rely on Meymo Desktop usage data. Processing is based on your consent, given by answering; you can ask at any time for your answer to be deleted through the contact below. It is deleted with your account.
